Best time to visit Valencia
Compare months and seasons by weather, beach conditions, crowds, hotel prices and key events. Pick the month that fits your priorities.
Season overview
Sweet spot: May, June, September, October
Temperatures 20–28 °C, sea warm enough to swim from mid-June, manageable crowds, reasonable hotel prices. These four months are the consensus best time for most visitors.
Summer (July–August): hot and busy
Beach season peaks, but the city itself reaches 32–36 °C. August is the hottest and most crowded month for the beaches. Outdoor sightseeing is uncomfortable at midday. Hotels near the beach are at full premium.
Las Fallas: 1–19 March (price spike ×2–3)
UNESCO-listed festival with giant papier-mâché sculptures, nightly fireworks and the Mascleta cannon salvo every day at 2 pm. Unique experience, but hotel prices triple and the city is very loud. Book months in advance.
Winter (November–February): quiet and mild
Daytime temperatures 13–17 °C. Rarely cold by northern European standards, but too cool for beaches. Best time for museums, food and avoiding crowds. Lowest hotel prices of the year.
