How much does a Valencia trip cost?
Valencia is one of the most affordable major cities in Spain. Budget travelers sharing a hostel dorm and eating menú del día (12–16 € for a 3-course lunch with wine) can get by on around 55–80 € per person per day. Mid-range travelers — 3-star hotel, sit-down restaurants, a couple of paid attractions — should budget 120–180 € per person per day.
Key costs to plan for: the Oceanogràfic entry is 35–40 € per adult; a paella for two at a good restaurant runs 15–25 € per person; a single metro journey is around 2 €. The Turia gardens, most beaches and many church interiors are free.
Day trips add cost: renting a car for a day (Xàtiva, Bocairent, Montanejos) is around 35–55 €/day. Albufera boat tours run 12–18 € per person.
